Thermo Poplar Construction

The Carbon Smart™ sauna kit uses thermally modified Thermo Poplar throughout key interior components. The wood is thermally modified at approximately 374°F and is described by the manufacturer as undergoing a chemical-free modification process.

Thermal modification changes the properties of the wood and is intended to improve dimensional stability when exposed to changes in indoor temperature and humidity. The resulting wood has a warm, natural appearance suitable for sauna interiors.

Bench Configurations

Several bench configurations are available to accommodate different interior layouts. The available configurations are shown in the product images and are built using 20-inch-deep clear Thermo Poplar bench boards with supports.

The included backrests are shipped flat. If an angled backrest is preferred, spacers can be created during installation to achieve the desired angle.

Installation Requirements

The Carbon Smart™ kit supplies the specified interior sauna components, but the installation requires preparation of the surrounding room.

Customers are responsible for providing:
